FIRST DRAWPICTURES
A Western, made together

Make a real Western. Shot in Colombia. No experience needed.

First Draw Pictures brings a small founding group together to make a feature-length Western with a professional crew, from your character to premiere night.

How it works

Five stops between your poster and opening night

A lean feature takes roughly 12 to 18 months from the day the founding group is complete to the premiere. Most of it you follow from home. These months are planning estimates, not promises.

Roughly months 1 to 4 · From home

    Shape your character

Your poster is the starting point. In story sessions by video, members work with the director on their characters and the scenes that matter most.

    • Your character's name, history and signature line
    • A listening session to hear the music being written
    • The director keeps the final say on the script
  2. 2
Roughly month 5 · From home

    Get ready

The crew prepares sets and costumes in Colombia while you watch it come together: a table read by video, a screen test in costume, and photos from the locations.

  3. 3
Roughly months 6 to 7 · In Colombia

    Go on set

Your set stay. You watch scenes being lit and shot from a few feet away, learn alongside the crew, and many members step in front of the camera for a cameo or a small speaking role.

    • Evening sessions with the director on how the film is made
    • Accessible transport, a cart on set, shaded rest areas and a medic
    • Ground costs in Colombia covered during your stay
  4. 4
Roughly months 7 to 11 · From home

    Watch it come together

The film is edited, scored and mixed. You get updates as it takes shape, so the story you helped build is never out of sight.

  5. 5
Roughly months 12 to 18 · Premiere night

See your name on the screen

You travel to the premiere with the cast and crew. The lights go down, the title comes up, and your name rolls in the credits as a producer, with your family beside you.

Questions

The questions everyone asks

I don't know anything about making films.

You don't need to. The director and professional crew handle the craft. Members learn by being there, and most are first-timers.

I couldn't do this on my own.

You won't. A small founding group makes the film together, and the planning, travel and production are organized for you.

Colombia is a long way. Is it comfortable?

The stay is planned around members: accessible transport, rest areas with seating and water, and a medic on call. A spouse or partner can come too.

What would I actually do?

Shape your character, spend time on set as an apprentice, possibly appear on screen, and travel to the premiere. You also receive a producer credit.

How long does it take?

Roughly 12 to 18 months from start to premiere. Only the set stay is in Colombia. The rest you follow from home.

Is this an investment?

No. It's an experience you take part in. No financial returns are promised or implied.

Who's behind it
"I've spent years bringing groups of people together around big projects. This is the one I've always wanted to make."

I'm Martin Kenny, the founder. I've lived in Bogotá, I grew up on Westerns, and I've always admired how Walt Disney turned a love of film into something that lasted. First Draw exists so that people who grew up loving the movies get to leave their mark on one.

The next step

Talk it over with Martin.

We're forming a small founding group, and I speak with every person myself before anyone joins. It's a 20-minute conversation. Bring your questions, including what it costs, and decide whether it's right for you.
